海外におけるオープンカーに相当する用語は、国や自動車の性質により、
「バルケッタ(barchetta)」「ロードスター(roadster)」「スパイダー(spider)」「カブリオレ(cabriolet)」
「コンバーチブル(convertible)」などがあります。
主に「バルケッタ」「ロードスター」「スパイダー」 はスポーツ走行色が強い傾向にあり、
「カブリオレ」「コンバーチブル」 は単に車内空間を開放することを目的としている傾向にあります
